THE YOUNGEST CAPTAIN AWARDED TOGETHER WITH YACHTING VETERANS
Camilla Megan Rothe, born in 1994, captain of the sailing yacht Audrey the First wins one of the RINA awards which – this year – for the fourth edition has decided to reward the youngest of the captains at YARE (Yachting Aftersales and Refit Experience) running until tonight and organized by NAVIGO, service center for innovation and development in the nautical sector.
Besides her, the RINA CAPTAINS AWARDS, awards for the professionalism and competence of the captains present at the yachting event went to three long-time captains. In first place, Pietro Giordano captain of the M/Y Ocean Pure, in second Gaitis Manthos at the helm of the M/Y Kingdom 5KR present in Yare together with the Hellenic Yachtmaster Club delegation of Athens, while the third classified is the captain Lorenzo Grassi on M/ Y Anything Goes IV. The awards were presented by Giorgio Gallo Yachting Italy & South of France center head RINA and by Pietro Angelini, general manager of NAVIGO during the YARE/Seatec Dinner Gala which took place yesterday evening in the magnificent spaces made available by Franchi Umberto Marmi in Carrara.
The winners were selected from a shortlist of participants who attended the RINA TRAINING DAY training courses.

Stability, life-saving devices, fire protection, ventilation and escape systems are critical areas in the design of a mega yacht and RINA offers an expertise recognized worldwide on passenger ships and equivalent standards applicable to luxury yachts. RINA’s assistance in the adoption of alternative design solutions required by international conventions allows to design yachts in full compliance with the most strict regulatory requirements, while retaining the distinctive characteristics of a pleasure boat. Not only safety regulations, but also a significant number of additional class notations and high-value services for cruise ships such as Green Plus and Comfort Class are now applicable to mega yachts.
